We are thrilled to be talking once again about Mark’s incredible upcoming challenge: a grueling 250-mile Kindness Amble in aid of Canals, Cats and Canines. (Canal and River Trust and Battersea Dogs & Cats Home)

While Mark isn’t due to lace up his hiking boots and hit the trail for another few months, his incredible dedication is already making serious waves across the country. In fact, his story has captured so much attention that he has been featured in five different newspapers long before July 1st.

The local and regional press have truly rallied behind Mark’s mission. So far, his story has been picked up by:

The Malvern Gazette (making it into the traditional physical print edition!)

Worcester News

Warwickshire World

Northampton Chronicle

Harborough Mail

But this media frenzy isn’t just about getting Mark’s name in lights, it serves a very practical, vital purpose for the journey ahead.

Walking 250 miles means Mark is going to be on the canal paths for 23 days, and he needs safe places to rest his head at the end of each exhausting day. These newspaper features have been instrumental in helping Mark broadcast a public appeal for places to pitch his tent along the route. Whether it’s a quiet corner of a farmer’s field, a pub beer garden, or a friendly local’s backyard, securing these spots in advance is the key to making this monumental trek possible.

The best news? The power of the press is already working its magic!

Thanks to these articles, the community spirit is shining through. Mark has already started receiving heartwarming messages of support and generous offers from readers who saw his story and want to help.

With just over a month still to go until day one of the walk, the momentum is only growing. A huge thank you to everyone who has read, shared, and supported Mark’s journey so far. Let’s keep spreading the word, because every article shared and every tent pitch offered brings Mark one step closer to the finish line!
