IT Equipment Recycling and Disposal for Insurance Companies
Insurers and brokers hold some of the most sensitive personal data in UK financial services, and your third-party risk team has to evidence what happens to it when the hardware is retired. Surplex UK Limited provides certified IT asset disposal, secure data destruction and zero-to-landfill recycling for insurance businesses across England, Wales and Scotland. Every collection produces serial-level documentation your risk function can put in front of the FCA, an internal auditor or a delegated authority review.
What procurement gets from the arrangement
One supplier, no fourth parties
Collection, sanitisation, destruction and recycling are all performed by us. Nothing is passed to a subcontractor, so there is no fourth party for your risk team to assess and no gap in the custody record.
Open-book value offset
We assess your retired hardware for recoverable value and show that valuation against the cost of the work. Most customers find their collection is free on that arithmetic, and there is no minimum quantity. Where the recovered value does not cover the work, we charge a small logistics and processing fee, agreed before collection. You are not asked to take the netting on trust.
Evidence filed, not emailed
Certificates, consignment notes, WEEE evidence and ESG data sit in your portal against the asset serial number. When an auditor asks, you retrieve it rather than searching an inbox.
Scheduled or ad hoc
Branch refreshes, claims-team hardware cycles and one-off clearances all run through the same documented process, so the evidence looks the same whoever raised the request.
Compliance we can prove, not just promise
Every collection comes with a complete, audit-ready paper trail – certificates of data destruction, serial-level reporting, WEEE evidence notes and ESG data, all available in your portal. Our secure facilities include a BS EN 1143-1 rated strong room, and data is destroyed to NIST 800-88 standards. We’re ISO 14001 certified, ICO registered, an Environment Agency licensed waste carrier, and JOSCAR & FSQS registered.

Yes. Surplex UK Limited collects across England, Wales and Scotland, from head offices, regional branches, broker offices and the home addresses of remote staff.
There is no minimum quantity, so a single branch clearance is handled the same way as a data centre refresh.
Most customers find their collection is free. Surplex UK Limited works on an open-book value-offset model with no minimum quantity, so a single broker office is handled on the same terms as a group programme. The value recovered from your redundant hardware is set against the cost of collection, data destruction and recycling, and you are shown both figures. Where the recovered value does not cover the work, a small logistics and processing fee is payable, quoted and agreed upfront.
